On this page you will find not just samples of my work but also some of my thoughts on the process involved in creating the images you see.

These three images are skin studies. I deliberately used very harsh light to provoke challenging conditions that would amplify the presence of any blemishes or imperfections and then used the dodge/burn method to reduce their prominence. The time I spent on each image in post processing was multiple hours but the result depicts the skin of each of my models as it was at the time of capture with no replacement or destruction of their natural skin texture.

This shoot with a bassist inside of a steel mill presented some unique challenges. We did not interrupt the operations of the mill while we were present to capture these pictures. The extreme heat required that we only stay in this environment for a short period of time to protect the sensitive wooden instrument.

Of all the pictures I’ve taken at weddings this is one of my friend’s brother with his daughter is one of those that sits closest to my heart. Since this picture was taken he unfortunately suffered a serious injury and is now partially paralyzed.
